The unit handles other digital media, too, from homemade MP3 and WMA music CDs to discs full of digital JPEG photos. Video connections include one output each for RF, composite-video, component-video (HD, SD), S-video, RGB (HD), and DVI. An RF antenna input accepts feeds from antennas to strengthen the unit's HD reception. Other features include a direct-digital DVI output compatible with HDCP content protection, a PSIP-based (Program and System Information Protocol electronic program guide, a universal remote control, and an RS-232 serial control port for integrating the LST-3510A with a complex home theater. A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. A 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter (with selectable 96 kHz/48 kHz PCM output) ensures optimum decoding of all disc formats, including HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), a 20-bit encoding method used on many commercial CDs to deliver better sound than is possible through standard CDs. What's in the Box DVD player/DTV receiver, remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable, a component-video cable, and an RF audio/video cable.
